Walnut Schoolhouse

Step foot into a gem nestled in Western NC, with a recent history of housing talented folks such as my dear friend Brennan, who skillfully navigates the depth of grains while fostering community around food. Even amidst the brisk fall temperatures, you’ll feel a warmth resonating from the space. Morning fog hugs the curves of the windy roads and hills. Smoke from the Alan Scott-designed wood-fired brick oven permeates the crisp mountain air. Pure magic, I say.

Closed out a week well spent in excellent company in North Carolina. I don’t know when I’ll make it back, but I hope you will one day. And go soon. Then drive a tad northwest of Asheville to attend a workshop led or hosted by my talented friend Brennan Johnson of Walnut Schoolhouse. (Edit: the Walnut Schoolhouse chapter has closed, but follow Brennan’s next endeavors).
